Hi, my name is April Qureshi and if you’re like me, you love to bake!
I’ve had a passion for food my whole life… It started when I was seven-year-old kid making brownies in my mom’s kitchen and eventually led me to get a diploma in Baking and Pastry Arts and enter the gourmet baking industry, where I worked as an award-winning pastry chef and wedding cake designer for twenty years and owned my own bakery.
And now I’d like to share that passion with you.
I created The Sweet Chef so that anyone who loves beautiful baked goods could learn how to easily make them at home and get wonderful results every time.
It doesn’t matter if you’re not an expert in the kitchen or don’t have a whole lot of fancy baking tools. You can still make great pies, cakes, cookies, and pastries… you just need to know the right techniques. And that’s exactly what you’ll discover here at the Sweet Chef!

April lives with her husband and two children on British Columbia’s breathtaking Sunshine Coast. When she’s not baking, you’ll probably find her elbow-deep in her garden or throwing down an opponent on the aikido mat.
